ABSTRACT
Two new feather mite species are described from ground finches of the genus Geospiza (Passeriformes, Emberizidae) collected
on Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Mesalgoides (s. str.) geospizae sp. nov. (Psoroptoididae) is found on Geospiza scandens (type
host), G. fortis, G. fuliginosa, and G. conirostris; Xolalgoides palmai sp. nov. (Xolalgidae) is found on G. scandens (type host),
G. fortis, and G. fuliginosa.
